Yes, He is Faithful. Yes, He is Good. Yes, He is Gracious. Yes He is Holy. Yes, He is Immutable.
Statement of Faith
Cross Community Church’s Statement of Faith is based on our understanding of historic Christian doctrines; derived from Scripture and proclaimed in the ancient creeds of the Church (I.e. the Apostle’s Creed and the Nicene Creed).
We believe the following concerning the foundation of our Christian Faith…
About God:
There is but one living and true God, everlasting, without beginning and without end, perfect in love and holiness. He has eternally existed as three persons; God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit.
God the Father:
God the Father is the creator of heaven and earth; of all things, seen and unseen.
God the Son:
God the Son – Jesus Christ – was born of a virgin, lived a sinless life, was crucified and died on a cross, was buried and rose from the dead so that all who trust in Him might become heirs of His mercy, grace, and salvation.
God the Holy Spirit:
God the Holy Spirit exists to draw creation back to their Creator; God the Father. The Holy Spirit convicts people of their sin and convinces them of the salvation available only through Jesus Christ. The Holy Spirit indwells believers giving them understanding of spiritual truth, assurance of their salvation and power for holy living.
About Humanity: All people are created in the image of God; however, because of Adam’s sin all people are sinful, both by nature and by choice, and left on their own are destined for an eternity separated from Him in hell.
About Salvation:
It is only by God’s grace through faith in Jesus Christ that one is able to take hold of a restored and reconciled relationship with God and be assured of an eternity with Him in heaven.
About Scripture:
The Bible, the Old and New Testament, sixty-six individual books yet one all-encompassing Word, was given to human authors under the guidance and inspiration of the Holy Spirit. It is inerrant and infallible, in its original manuscripts, and is the unique, full, and final authority on all matters of faith and practice.
About the Church:
All who have placed their trust and faith in Jesus Christ comprise what is known as Christ’s Church. The Church is commanded to gather together in order to devote themselves to worship, prayer, the teaching of the Word, the observance of Baptism and The Lord’s Supper, fellowship, service to the body through the use of spiritual gifts and to the sharing of our faith with the rest of the world.
We further believe that Cross Community Church specifically exists to:
Care for one another, to
Reach out to all people, to be
Obedient to the teaching of God’s Word, to be
Steadfast in daily spiritual growth, and to
Share the Good News of Jesus Christ
